Notes on the DB6NT 10GHz Transverter - Part 1

Home     Part 1     Part 2     Part 3     Part 4

Back in 2009 I purchased a 10GHz transverter kit from Kuhne Electronic (DB6NT) in Germany. These images show what I got and how it goes together.

This shows the contents of the package.  You get two plastic containers that have all the components in them, a printed circuit board, parts for a tinplate box and an instruction manual.
This shows the top and bottom lids of the tinplate box and the printed circuit board.  The lower lid is lined with RF absorbing foam (the black stuff).  The PCB is sitting in the upper lid.

The PCB uses a ceramic substrate and is entirely silver plated.

There were a couple of stickers for the outside of the box hidden under the foam.
This box contains all the SMD resistors and capacitors.

Important:  The 47R and 100R resistors come in 0805 and 1206 sizes.  Check the overlay diagram to make sure they are placed correctly.
This box contains all the remaining components, each in its own labelled compartment.
